Here at the digital.leadnet.org blog, we've had a great first year! Actually, this blog was launched in September, so it's been only a quarter of a year. We started up ith an adept team of a dozen contributors, and added 2 new ones, Aaron Linne and Anthony Coppedge a few weeks ago.
In 2007, this blog had 106 posts, 152 comments, and 12 trackbacks. We're aiming for a non-techie readership, so the low trackback count doesn't bother us -- not that we don't want bloggers to trackback.
I've just added Google Analytics to this blog, so we can track some more interesting things to report back to you. For example, here are the top 5 most popular posts in December:
- The Seven Deadly Sins of Church WebSite Design
- Visually Immersive Art in Worship Services
- What about a Social Networking Site for Spiritual Formation?
- Get FREE internet content filtering - without software!
- Ten Websites Every Pastor Should Know
I was rooting for my list of churches with internet campuses, but that came in at #18. These are only December stats, so older posts like this one dated in October typically won't get as many hits, unless it were a classic oldie but goodie.
This blog usually averages over 120 unique visitors a day, about 2,000 a month. On Christmas Eve, December 24th, this blog had a spike of 849 unique visitors. We don't have any Christmas presents here, so I don't know what was up with that.
We're anticipating that the new year 2008 will bring yet more innovations and technologies, and our great team will discuss how they can be practically used by churches for effective ministry!

I'd love to see you dig in a bit and figure out what happened on Christmas Eve. Analytics should be able to help you figure it out. Choose only 12-24 in the date chooser, then dig through "Traffic Sources". I'm guessing it was a Christmas-related query that you randomly ranked well for.
