I noticed this post by Scoble today:
Microsoft researchers make me cry
I'm not big on hyping things up, but it would appear that Scoble found something that's going to have a unique impact on the technology world. It's not every day that something gets compared to being as technology-changing as Excel or Photoshop.
Curtis Wong, the researcher whose app made Scoble cry, is the head of Microsoft's Next Media team. The group's "research focus spans the linear and interactive media spectrum from television, broadband, and gaming to combinations of traditional media forms or emerging media forms too new to have a name." One of the things we know the team is working on is MyLifeBits - a way to organize not just your photos (what Wong was doing in 2004), but everything about your life.
When was the last time something on your computer made you cry?
What would you do if there was a way to go back and record the life of your parents, your grandparents, or your kids? Would it be vain to record our own lives?

It's something to do with Photosynth, see here:
