One of the future movements for Microsoft is toward cloud computing and integration. The first step for Microsoft has been to create their free Mesh service. Mesh integrates numerous devices to be able to access computers from remote locations and store files on a Microsoft-hosted drive.
Microsoft recently opened up the beta of their service at mesh.com.
I tested out the service last night and have to admit that I was very impressed. You install a small app on your PC and can then access your other mesh-enabled systems at, literally, the click of a button. It also places the networked mesh folders right on your desktop.
The service currently only works with XP and Vista systems, but should soon add support for Macs and Windows Mobile Phones.
