Everyone knows getting your church website to show up on (the top of) Google is important. Ranking for "churches in your city name" brings lots of local virtual visitors who want to learn more about your church.
Here's some data I ran across that shows just how important a #1 ranking is...
SERP # is the search engine result position number. The first 10 rankings are on the first page of the search engine results. Notice how the top position gets nearly 4X more clicks than the 2nd position. And the number of click-throughs decreases dramatically towards the last result on the 1st page.
Diving into the data more here shows that the 2nd page of results is almost negligible. Search engine users rarely go past the 1st page of results...
